SKR 630: THE EFFECT OF SNOWBALL THROWING AND SNOWBALL DRILLING METHODS ON TEACHING READING AT TENTH CLASS STUDENTS OF SMAN 1 MOJO

The aims of this research is to find out the effect of teaching reading by using snowball throwing and snowall drilling methods at tenth class students of SMAN 1 Mojo and to analyze the differences between students who are taught using snowball throwing and those who are taught using snowball drilling methods at tenth class students of SMAN 1 mojo. This research uses a quantitative research methods. The sample of this research used two classes, X-11 as the experimental class and XI-7 as a controll class. The data collection technique of this research is pre-test and post-test. The results shows that: 1) There is an effect of teaching reading by using snowball throwing method on tenth class students of SMAN 1 Mojo. The results are seen from the descriptive calculations where the average between the pre-test and post-test of the experimental class is 18.29. 2) There is no significant effect of teaching reading using snowball drilling method on tenth grade students of SMAN 1 Mojo. The results hows that the student’s average score only increased 1.28 after using the snowball drilling method. 3) There is a significant difference between using snowball throwing and snowball drilling.
