SKR 516: THE EFFECT OF LEARNING STYLES AND SELF-CONFIDENCE ON SPEAKING SKILLS OF STUDENTS OF XI TK ACADEMIC YEAR 2023 / 2024 AT SMAN 1 GROGOL
This skripsi aims to analyze 1) the partial effect of
learning styles on speaking skills , 2) the partial effect of selfconfidence on speaking skills, and 3) the simultaneous effect of learning styles and self-confidence on speaking skills. The research design used was quantitative research and the method used a survey with a Likert scale. The population was all of X1 TK academic year 2023/2024 at SMAN 1 Grogol. The sampling technique used simple random sampling and this research used 117 students as the sample. The data collection was from the survey by Google Forms that was filled by the students and documentation of students’ speaking scores from the English teacher. To prove the relationships of the variables used, the data analyzed used simple linear regression for the t-test and multiple regression for the F-test. The statistical analysis used the SPSS 25.0 application.
The result of the research shows that: 1) There are partially significant effects of learning styles on the speaking skills of the students of X1 TK at SMAN 1 Grogol. This is knownfrom the value of Sig. 0,000 < 0,05 and t count 6,411 > t table 1,980. It means, that learning styles partially significantly affect students speaking skills. 2) There are partially significant effects of self�confidence on the speaking skills of the students of X1 TK at SMAN 1 Grogol. This is known from the value of Sig. 0,000 < 0,05 and tcount 5,031 > ttable 1,980. It means, that self-confidence partially significantly affects students speaking skills. 3) There are simultaneously significant effects of learning styles on the speaking skills of the students of X1 TK at SMAN 1 Grogol. This is known from the value of Sig. 0,000 < 0,05 and Fcount 22,243 > Ftable 19,49. It means, that learning styles and self-confidence simultaneously significantly affects on students speaking skills.
